John Cage

Join us on Friday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. for a screening of Peter Greenaway’s Four American Composers: John Cage at Parrish Art Museum.

This excerpt from Peter Greenaway’s documentary project Four American Composers (1983) profiles avant-garde legend John Cage. Made for TV and based on a series of musical performances commemorating Cage’s 70th birthday, Greenaway’s film provides an intimate portrait of the composer through footage of his performances intercut with interviews with Cage himself. Greenaway’s style provides insight into Cage’s training as a painter, and how his interest in linguistics and philosophy influenced his work.

Tickets are $10 (free for members, children, and students) and can be purchased HERE. Seating is limited, so don’t hesitate!

This event is co-presented with Parrish Art Museum. Special thanks to The John Cage Trust.
