She has performed locally at both BayStreet and Guild Hall headed a successful summer theatre program at The Ross School’s in East Hampton. Andrina hopes to use her Watermill residency to highlight some previously untold stories of the East End’s Narrative.
This residency is supported through the Maria Bacardi Artist Scholarship, established by a generous gift from artist Maria Pessino, in honor of her late grandmother.
During her residency, Andrina Smith plans on writing The People of The Sandy Shore, a two act play that explores the rich tapestry of Long Island’s history. Relying on historical documents, traditional stories, and historically relevant consultants, Smith will share the story of the indigenous people of Long Island from colonization to present day.
