ABOUT THE ARTISTS

2019 Inga Maren Otto Fellow, Shaun Gladwell (b. 1972) is an Australian-born, London-based artist. He completed Associate Research at Goldsmiths College, London in 2001 and has since undertaken numerous international residencies and commissions. He has exhibited prodigiously in Europe, North and South America, and in the Asia Pacific Region.

Lynsey Peisinger is a performer, choreographer and director. She recently co-directed the Mile Long Opera , a citywide public engagement project, which brought together 1,000 singers for performances on The High Line, with music composed by David Lang. In 2017, she collaborated with Marina Abramovic on The Cleaner in Stockholm, a retrospective of the artist’s work and a collective performance that lasted seven days, for which Peisinger coordinated and choreographed the participation of thirty performers and thirty five choirs. She has presented solo performance works at the C24 Gallery in New York, Fondation Beyeler in Basel, at SESC Pompeia in Sao Paulo, at Performa Paço at Paço das Artes in Sao Paulo, at Robert Wilson’s 2nd Annual Berlin Benefit, at Hyeres Fashion and Photography Festival, and Kunstfest Weimar. She received her MFA in choreography from the Dance Conservatory at Purchase College.

Born and raised in Southampton, NY, Andrina Wekontash Smith is a Shinnecock writer, actor and performer who has spent her career exploring the various components of the human condition. She is a current house team writer/performer at the PIT in NYC. Andrina’s solo work has been featured in festivals throughout NYC, and the tri-state area. She has performed locally at both BayStreet and Guild Hall headed a successful summer theatre program at The Ross School’s in East Hampton. Andrina hopes to use her Watermill residency to highlight some previously untold stories of the East End’s Narrative
