Community Day invites the public to experience The Watermill Center’s 10-acre campus as our Artists-in-Residence do: a space to explore, relax, and get inspired. Community Day features art installations and performances by East End artists throughout our wooded grounds and a self-guided tour of our outdoor art collection.

This Spring, The Watermill Center’s Community Day celebrates the rich culture of Long Island. Attendees will get the opportunity to learn about the various cultural and artistic offerings across the North & South Forks through informational booths and workshops by East End institutions curated throughout The Watermill Center’s grounds.

Tickets start at $15, children’s admission (11 and under) is free. If the cost of this event presents a financial barrier for you, please request a pay-what-you-can ticket by contacting visit@watermillcenter.org. Click here to register!

The day’s offerings include installations, performances, and workshops by East End artists, including Scott Bluedorn, David Chaffin, Philippe Cheng, Pipi Deer, East End Special Players, Saskia Friedrich, Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre, Sylvia Hommert, Stephanie Joyce, Laurie Krupp, Bastienne Schmidt, and Sabra Moon Elliot, the current Artist-in-Residence at the Hayground School. The Center will also highlight teaching artists from their Healing Arts program, with wellness workshops led by Sylvia Channing and Karen Meyer throughout the evening. Community Day will feature a special installation from students participating in The Center’s YARP Teens program, who spent the past few weeks exploring the intersection of art and activism; and a blessing led by Shane Weeks from the Shinnecock Indian Nation.

Attendees for Community Day will have the chance to explore The Watermill Center’s property and learn about local community organizations, including Bay Street Theatre, East End Food Institute, Eastville Community Historical Society, Guild Hall, Luv Michael, Ma’s House & BIPOC Artist Studio, Niamuck Land Trust, Pitch Your Peers, US Autism Homes and organizations from the Hamptons Arts Network. Refreshments will be available from Buddhaberry, Hampton Coffee Company, Luv Michael, and South Fork Bakery.
