Viewpoints is The Watermill Center’s year-round conversation series, granting artists and art enthusiasts the opportunity to gather and discuss creative themes vital to the contemporary moment. Hosted at both its East End campus and online, Viewpoints engages with the community through intriguing dialogue, artist talks, and lectures that span across disciplines.

Viewpoints will feature a reading of the artist’s work, followed by a guided conversation and Q&A.

For this virtual event, all attendees will receive a Zoom link the morning of the event via email. Viewpoints will be recorded and made available for viewing the following week.

About The Artist

John Elizabeth Stintzi is a non-binary writer and artist who grew up on a cattle farm in northwestern Ontario. Their work has been awarded the 2019 RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers, The Malahat Review’s 2019 Long Poem Prize, the Sator New Works Award, and has been shortlisted for the Amazon Canada First Novel Award and the Raymond Souster Award. Their work has appeared in Ploughshares, Kenyon Review, Fiddlehead, The Malahat Review, Best Canadian Poetry, and many others. JES is the author of the novels My Volcano (2022) and Vanishing Monuments, as well as the poetry collection Junebat. Stintzi was a 2018 Artist-in-Residence at The Watermill Center. They live with their wife in Kansas City.
