Join us on September 28th, 12pm-2:30pm for our next Artists’ Table featuring a conversation between video and performance artist Liz Magic Laser and Watermill’s Founder and Artistic Director Robert Wilson, and a locally-sourced Ayurvedic meal by Chef Corey De Rosa of Tapovana Healing Center.

Artist Liz Magic Laser will be in conversation with Robert Wilson to coincide with her onsite video installation, “Exorcise 1 through 8.” Laser and Wilson will discuss their early experiences engaging with the performing arts in therapeutic contexts. They will explore the importance of the chair and stillness in Wilson’s theater practice in relation to the therapeutic shaking movement in Laser’s work.

Artists’ Table at The Watermill Center is supported by Drs. Mark and June Halsey and Halsey Dermatology, with wines generously provided by Wölffer Estate Vineyard.

QUESTIONS + IDEAS (Q + I), The Watermill Center’s year-round talk series, gathers leaders and creative thinkers across the arts, humanities, and sciences to engage on complex and wide-ranging topics.

This October we welcome experts on the topic of Long Island Experimentation. Join us on October 24th, 6pm-8pm as we explore the history of The Watermill Center, once a Western Union science lab, Nikola Tesla’s experimental Wardenclytte laboratory, the early Marconi stations, and the FBl’s wireless espionage operation at Camp DeWolfe. Learn how these stories inspire Watermill artists and contemporary innovation as a whole.

Long Island Experimentation is made possible by the Robert D.L. Gardiner Foundation.
